We are excited to meet individuals who are interested in joining our team. If you would like to be a part of the DECATS experience in this unique way, please read on to learn how you can become a part of the DECATS team.


Graduate Assistant

Scholars who have graduated from the DECATS program frequently return each summer to serve as Graduate Assistants for the program. GAs work closely with mentors and Scholars to serve the community in a supportive role.

A more formal application for this position is currently under development. For now, graduates who wish to express interest in being a GA may fill out our current application.

Mentor

The faculty and staff at DECATS are distinguished professional school educators who have noteworthy achievements in their areas of expertise. A 10:1 ratio of Scholars to faculty is maintained. DECATS Mentors are teachers and educators interested in working with highly motivated, academically talented Scholars in an intensive three-week summer program.

2009 MENTOR APPLICATION INFORMATION

  • What dates are mentors required to attend?  Mentors must commit to attend the following dates for DECATS 2009:
    • DECATS 2009 Summer Program: June 15 - July 2
    • Mentor Spring Weekend Retreat: April 3 - 5
    • Spring Inservice: May 2
    • Pre-Program Inservice: June 10 - 12
    • Family Orientation & Open House: June 13
  • How do I begin?  The link to launch the mentor application is below.
  • Is this all I need to do to apply?  In order to process your application, DECATS must receive a completed online application and an administrative letter of support sent from your school's principal.
  • Administrative Letter of Support  In addition to the online application, please download and print this form and submit it to your school's principal. Upon completion, your principal should mail the form directly to DECATS. Click here to download the form.
