2009 myStatus accounts Those students interested in applying for DECATS at St. Rose of Lima will create their myStatus account for 2009 in December.
Campaign to Carpool
Each year, we receive several great suggestions about how we can improve the DECATS experience as part of our intensive evaluation process, and we are committed to careful reflection to improve our systems and put your ideas into action.
Three years ago, many families shared with us their interest in collaborating with other families to form carpools to DECATS. As a result, we created the DECATS "Campaign to Carpool" Project, a protected collaboration space on our website. The C2C project is now accessible via myStatus.
We want to encourage your participation, even if you aren't searching for a carpool. There may be a family near you in need of a ride - and this is a great way for parents and Scholars to form relationships that will last well beyond our short three weeks together!
Medication Forms
DECATS must have a medication form on file in order to issue any medication to your Scholar during the program. This includes non-prescription over-the-counter items, including aspirin and cough drops. "My mom said it's okay for me to have Tylenol" is a frequent line that's pitched in the clinic; unfortunately, it's often the same case that there isn't a form on file allowing us permission to give the requested medication.
If your Scholar will require medication during the program, please download the form via your myStatus account, print and sign, and bring it to DECATS along with the medication. Parents should bring the medication; Scholars should never carry and / or self administer any medication. For questions and concerns regarding allergies and inhalers / epipens, please contact Mr. Barone at jbarone (at) decats.org so that we may make special accommodation for those items.
Program Evaluations
Parents will be provided with an opportunity to complete an evaluation towards the end of the summer session. Scholars also get to fill out an evaluation, and both are very helpful in future planning. These evaluations are conducted online and may be accessed via your myStatus account. We also welcome any feedback you have during the program, so please feel free to contact us any time.
Extended Day Registration
Entertaining Enigmas, our extended day program, begins at 7:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m. No extended care is provided on the last day of DECATS, as the program concludes at noon that day.
Families register for Entertaining Enigmas as part of registration, which is accessed via your myStatus account. A fee is collected in addition to tuition, according to the following cost schedule.
Morning & Afternoon Care: $100
Only Morning Care: $50
Only Afternoon Care: $50
Costs cover care for the entire three weeks; the number of days / times a Scholar utilizes extended day is irrelevant.
Scholars who do not register for Entertaining Enigmas and that utilize extended day services will be charged the corresponding fee.
