Greetings, DECATS Families!
The final week of our program is always filled with many experiences, such as course presentations and the culmination of our service project. Our community came together to collect over 300 items to donate to Texas Children’s Hospital! During Thursday’s Closing Celebration, our Scholars used their talents With Great Power and put together a powerful performance that was a wonderful display of creativity and leadership.
Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of your Scholar’s growth this summer. I pray that all the Scholars walk away from DECATS with an adventure or experience that has made a difference in their lives.
A crucial component in improving the DECATS experience for future Scholars is the feedback we receive from you. Your feedback is critical to the success of our future programs. Both the Parent Evaluation and Scholar Evaluation are available to you on the checklist in your myStatus portal. We would love to hear from you and your Scholar about their DECATS experience!

Our program in Houston began 28 years ago with its first gift from Manuel DeBusk and his foundation’s ongoing commitment to fund programming for gifted children in Texas. We humbly ask you to prayerfully consider helping continue Mr. DeBusk’s legacy with a tax-deductible donation. This summer at DECATS was spectacular, and we all found our super power within ourselves and throughout DECATS 2022!
