From the Director’s Chair

Greetings, DECATS Families!

We’ve officially leveled up in Week 2, and what an amazing week it’s been! Our Scholars continue to grow, explore, and use their unique gifts to take their learning to the Next Level. I’m so proud of their progress and excited to share a few highlights.

Our “Manners” Scholars sharpened their social skills through introductions and small talk in preparation for Tuesday’s Manners to Morals Day. In “Executive Functioning”, Scholars powered up skills like working memory, organization, and social awareness. During “Wellness”, Scholars explored stressors, healthy body image, and nutrition as part of leveling up their self-care skills. Meanwhile, our “Values and Morals” Scholars launched their giveback project, collecting canned goods and non-perishable items to serve the community.

Creativity and imagination soared as Scholars crafted Mars Rovers in Mission to Mars, mastered tying, threading, and design in Knots and Stitches, and built 3-D replica trucks in Food Truck Showdown.

I’ve gotten so many wonderful messages from families who are experiencing the impact that DECATS is having in their lives—thank you! DECATS is making a real difference. I’m deeply grateful for our team of exceptional Mentors who help bring this mission to life each day.

We’d love to hear what your Scholars are saying! If you’re open to us sharing your comments online or in future projects, just let us know.
